Bio

With guitar driven hooks, crystalline vocal melodies, and powerful songwriting, Darksoft will haunt your very digital mainframe.

Darksoft finds inspiration in the encrypted, hidden motives that infect modern society, love, and communication. In this concept-driven project, every song is named after an infamous computer virus like Heartbleed, Mydoom, Code Red, ILOVEYOU, and others.

Evoking a nostalgia for some sort of mid 2000s sadcore, Darksoft harkens an Elliot Smith vocal style, crunches guitar like Staryflyer 59, and uses an instrumentation with a garage rock song structure like Weezer underwater.

Bill Darksoft, hailing from Issaquah, leads the Darksoft project. He runs Look Up Records, studied creative writing at UW, and has also played with other local Seattle acts over the years.
